Tern have spent many years building and developing the 20″ wheeled, family-friendly premium electric bikes to get more people to use a bicycle in their life and for their daily activities.
In 2018, we started to sell the GSD Gen 1 on the island, an all-new compact cargo bike form factor that took the world by storm. Tern succeeded in convincing the world that a compact cargo bike makes sense, especially in for Guernsey as lets be honest nowhere is that far here. Their messaging on “low center of gravity”, “frame stiffness is important”, and “optimizing bike design for cargo and comfort” has been widely accepted by consumers and the industry.
Today, GSD is still Best in Class but there are many, many more competitors. Some of these competitors sport premium motors and premium pricing and are generally decently designed. Others have entered the market with budget motors and even more shortcomings, especially with regards to safety. Tern thinks of the market with a simple Good, Better, Best product grid. GSD is our BEST entry in the market. With Quick Haul Long we enter the market with a BETTER entry that is priced well below the GSD. In fact, it is among the lowest priced compact cargo longtails with premium motor on the market.
Uncomplicated and incredibly versatile, Quick Haul Long is a compact cargo bike for families on the go. It’s similar in length to a regular bike for easy maneuvering past traffic queues, but built extra tough to safely carry 2 kids or your biggest Costco hauls. And best of all, it’s a funner, freer way to get around for you and your family without putting strain on the environment.
The Quick Haul Long is a compact cargo bike for +2 passengers. It is designed for families and can carry 2 children. It has a 190 kg MGVW and is equipped with the Bosch Cargo system & motor (85Nm Torque). Quick Haul Long retains the core features of the GSD – +2 passengers, Bosch premium* drivetrain, longtail cargo space, solid kickstand, lower decks, Tern Accessory System compatibility – but at a much lower price. Importantly, Quick Haul Long is tested to the German DIN 79010 cargo bike standard, a first for Tern.
For the UK market the Tern Quick Haul Long will be avalibile in three colour options, Satin Blac, Satin Ice Grey and Satin Traffic Red. Guernsey RRP will be £2,915 with stock due late August 2024.
